I Was On an Extended Break

When I started this blog, I had no clue what I was doing.  I still don’t! lol  But it’s OK I’m a work in a progress.  I’m finding that it’s a weird place to be when you aren’t old, but you aren’t young either, your children have all grown and flew out of the nest and you quit and/or retired from a job that sucked the life out of you.    A bit early, to do what fulfills you.  Still trying to find that, that’s the work in progress part of me, figuring out what I want to be when I grow up after age 55.  Yikes.  Lately I haven’t…

    Happy 4th of July

I love setting the table for holidays.  The patriotic theme is fun because there’s so many different combinations and ways to go.  This year I went with a Williams Sonoma tablecloth, my Crate and Barrel Aspen white dishes, Tracy Porter blue dishes, and the red plates I picked up on clearance at TJ Maxx after Christmas Clearance.

Because it was such a beautiful day, my son in law wanted to try out his new pellet smoker grill. Then we invited my youngest daughter and her fiance, Tim. Yay! A party planning party. I love when these things happen. Here’s how our afternoon went… Ribs!!!!! OMG!!!! These were made on a pellett smoker grill. There are about as many methods to make these as there are people that love them. These were given a dry rub and then finished with bbq sauce. The secret?…

    Welcome Spring!

It’s been a while since I last posted about the late arrival of Spring. Even though the groundhog predicted an early spring it sure didn’t seem like it here in Manahawkin. But today is beautiful and sunny and things are looking up. These are my flowers that my husband gave me for Easter last year. They made it! Follow my blog with Bloglovin
