    Happy 4th of July

I love setting the table for holidays.  The patriotic theme is fun because there’s so many different combinations and ways to go.  This year I went with a Williams Sonoma tablecloth, my Crate and Barrel Aspen white dishes, Tracy Porter blue dishes, and the red plates I picked up on clearance at TJ Maxx after Christmas Clearance.

    The Bunnies Have Arrived !

It took awhile, I have been so behind this spring. I couldn’t wait for it to get here and it just crept right up behind me. But here it is……my bunnies. I collect these Williams Sonoma bunnies. Every year I add a new piece. This year I incorporated them into my Easter Tablescape. The smaller bunnies are vintage L.E. Smith pressed glass. This year’s tablescape for Easter Dinner. The white dishes are Lenox, the blue dish is one of my favorite Tracy Porter dishes. The glasses are vintage, not sure where they came from, I found them on eBay 6 years ago and I love them. The napkin is from…

    Beautiful Sunday Afternoon

So my oldest daughter, Alicia and I are planning her brother’s Graduation Party and thought, let’s get together and discuss the details. Great idea! Because it was such a beautiful day, my son in law wanted to try out his new pellet smoker grill. Then we invited my youngest daughter and her fiance, Tim. Yay! A party planning party. I love when these things happen. Here’s how our afternoon went… Ribs!!!!! OMG!!!! These were made on a pellett smoker grill. There are about as many methods to make these as there are people that love them. These were given a dry rub and then finished with bbq sauce. The secret?…

    Welcome Spring!

It’s been a while since I last posted about the late arrival of Spring. Even though the groundhog predicted an early spring it sure didn’t seem like it here in Manahawkin. But today is beautiful and sunny and things are looking up. These are my flowers that my husband gave me for Easter last year. They made it! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

The Find of the Day…… All-Clad-Dutch Oven I can’t believe I found this for 5 bucks! All it took was a little elbow grease and some Bar Keeper’s friend. The entire haul was $25. This All-Clad 8 quart MC2 Dutch Oven retails for around $250 with lid. I’ll be posting my other great finds soon.

Mr. Groundhog? Hello? Is it Spring?

It’s that most dreary and depressing time of the year. Christmas is long gone and packed away. The romance of Valentine’s Day has passed, the trees are lonely, dark and naked and afraid. No birds carelessly flying around to stop at my bird feeder. As much as I hate to admit the truth, it’s over. Soup and I must part ways…….for now. Why? Because really? who doesn’t LOVE a hot, slow, simmering pot of soup on the stove to warm the cold, dark, final days of winter? But…..sigh…..my husband, including the cat and the dog, can be heard for miles groaning, “Nooooo…….. no more!” And so……we wait……. to be continued.
